About Us

P.B. Anchalik Mahavidyalaya is a promising Higher educational Institution offering Arts course under Guwahati University for Degree classes . The College is located under undivided Paschim Barigog Mauza in the locality district of Kamrup .It is situated in the middle part of the vast ,which is a distance of about 20 Kms from Rangia ,20 Kms from Nalbari,20 Kms from Hajo and 45Kms from Gauhati University, Jalukbari. The College was established in 1984 with the noble objective of spreading the light of Higher education amongst the students of this rural, remote, flood prone, economically and educationally backward area.

At present it has nine departments in the Arts Faculty and offers courses in computer application and Information technology and Environmental studies. It imparts education to more than twelve hundred students and more than Five hundred students are enrolled annually.

The College is well equipped with modern infrastructural facilities and guided by excellent and dedicated faculty members to cater to the needs and aspirations of the present day competitive world. There exists an atmosphere of cordial relationship between the students and teacher in the college by practicing guide teacher concept. A part from academic pursuits students of P. B. Anchalik Mahavidyalaya involve in various projects run by the college for self employment like “Handloom Weaving training cum production”, Duck firm etc. The college has well equipped Library which is supervised and managed by Qualified Library staff. More than 33,000 Books in the library. On the other hand Journals, Magazines, Daily News paper are also available there. Since 13th Aug’ 1984 the date of establishment, the college has come a long way in meeting the emerging needs and challenges of the global scenario.
